Description
This Chinese Norinco Type 56 SKS is a semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm, originally configured for military use and since modified with contemporary components. The rifle features a 20-inch barrel equipped with a hooded post front sight and an under-folding spike bayonet. The metal surfaces consist of a blued receiver and barrel with a polished steel bolt carrier. The firearm is housed in a black synthetic thumbhole-style stock featuring an adjustable cheek riser and a black fabric Uncle Mike’s buttstock sleeve with ammunition loops. Sighting is provided by the factory tangent rear sight and an aftermarket Picatinny rail attached to the receiver cover. Additional features include a circular, hollowed-out bolt handle extension and a detachable 30-round curved steel magazine. Key markings on the left side of the receiver include the Factory 26 triangle mark, the Chinese characters 五六式, and the serial number 12135746. The receiver is further marked NORINCO SKS 7.62X39 CHINA and KSI POMONA, CA. The bolt carrier is stamped with the matching partial serial number 35746. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish on the receiver and barrel shows moderate external wear, thinning, and some light scuffing. The polished steel bolt carrier exhibits a small spot of surface oxidation. The synthetic stock is in good condition with minor handling marks and scuffs. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm.
