Description
This collection consists of six bullet mold block sets and three reloading hand tools designed for bullet casting and ammunition preparation. Also included are a Lyman set marked 555 with a sprue plate, a SAECO set featuring a bullet-shaped logo and marked 428, and a Lyman set marked 311291 / 47. The latter Lyman set is accompanied by its original cardboard box which specifies use with handles marked small and identifies the manufacturer as Lyman Products for Shooters of Middlefield, Connecticut. The three hand tools feature bulbous handles in dark wood, white polymer, and light wood, each fitted with a metal pin or expander tip. Key markings across the collection include manufacturer names Lyman, RCBS, and SAECO, along with various caliber and mold designations. The items are primarily constructed of steel, wood, and polymer.
Condition report:
The items show varying degrees of use and age. Metal components exhibit surface wear, light rust, and minor pitting, with the SAECO block showing significant surface oxidation. The wooden handles on the tools and one mold show typical handling marks and some finish wear. The white polymer handle shows some discoloration and surface scuffing. The Lyman cardboard box shows edge wear, some tearing, and staining consistent with age and storage. The mechanical sprue plates appear to move, though they have not been tested for precision casting.
