Description
A handheld zoom monocular or spotting scope manufactured in Japan for the Focal brand. The instrument features a black-finished body with three sections of textured knurled grips for handling and adjustment. It is equipped with achromatic coated lenses and provides variable magnification ranging from 10x to 30x with a 30mm objective lens diameter. The central barrel is printed with the following text: FOCAL 10X-30X D=30 ZOOM ACHROMATIC COATED LENS Code No. 20-20-56 JAPAN. A small diamond-shaped manufacturer mark is located next to the country of origin. The body includes a dedicated focus adjustment ring labeled Focus with an integrated arrow and a zoom adjustment ring marked with 10X and 30X positions. A yellow circular inspection sticker from the Japan Telescopes Inspection Institute is affixed near the eyepiece. The underside is fitted with a standard threaded tripod mounting socket.
Condition report:
The exterior exhibits minor surface wear and light scuffing consistent with regular use. The textured grips remain intact. Mechanical rings for focus and zoom are mobile, though smooth operation and optical precision have not been verified. Lenses appear clear of significant debris or scratches upon visual inspection. No carrying case or additional accessories are present.
