Description
This lot consists of a collection of five steel reloading dies housed in two original green plastic manufacturer boxes. The first box is identified by part number 18237 and is labeled SIZER CARB .38 SPEC/.357 MAG, containing two dies, a long threaded bolt, and a small metal washer. The second box is marked with part number 18206 and a description for a .357 MAG SWC three-piece set, containing three individual dies. Verbatim markings on the packaging include RCBS PRECISIONEERED Reloading Dies and RCBS, INCORPORATED, OROVILLE, CA 95965. One of the dies in the three-piece set features a lock ring with the incised characters HERTER’S. These dies are designed for the handloading of .38 Special and .357 Magnum caliber ammunition. No firearms or live ammunition are included in this lot.
Condition report:
The steel components show varying degrees of surface oxidation and visible rust, particularly on the knurled sections and adjustment nuts. There are clear signs of previous use and handling throughout the set. The green plastic storage cases exhibit external scuffing, accumulated dirt, and significant deterioration to the adhesive paper labels. The internal threads and adjustment mechanisms appear to be in functional condition, though they have not been tested with a press.
