Description
This lot consists of three 20-round box magazines designed for the Colt AR-15 rifle chambered in 5.56mm. These magazines feature lightweight aluminum bodies with a matte gray finish and steel floor plates. The design is characteristic of early production pre-ban magazines intended for use with the AR-15 and M16 platforms. Each magazine floor plate is stamped with prominent markings including the rampant colt logo followed by COLT AR-15, CAL. 5.56 MM, COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. INC., and HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A. The bodies exhibit standard vertical reinforcement ribs and a rectangular magazine catch cutout.
Condition report:
The magazines are in used condition, retaining a significant portion of their original gray finish. There is visible surface wear, including scattered scratches and thinning of the finish along the edges and contact points. Minor accumulated debris and light surface oxidation are present on the floor plates and within the crevices of the magazine bodies. The followers appear to be under spring tension, though we have not function-tested these magazines in a firearm.
