Description
This Old West Firearms Short Bore Guardian (SBG) is a single-action, over-under double-barrel derringer chambered in 9mm. The pistol features a matte black finish on the barrels and frame, complemented by polished faux-pearl bird’s head grips. It is equipped with 3-inch barrels featuring a top-break release lever and an integrated trigger guard. Key markings include the model designation MODEL SBG 9mm on the left side of the barrel and the manufacturer’s information OLD WEST FIREARMS , ELWOOD , UT on the right. The frame is stamped with the serial number 007527 on the left side. Functional components include a manual cross-bolt safety marked PUSH FOR SAFE and PUSH TO FIRE, along with a fixed front blade sight and a notched rear sight. The lot includes the original OLD WEST FIREARMS pictorial cardboard box, a printed DERRINGER instruction sheet, two cable locks (one blue Walther-branded lock with keys and one black lock in original plastic packaging), and an additional set of keys. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The firearm is in excellent, near-new condition, showing minimal signs of handling or use. The matte black finish is well-preserved with no significant wear, scratches, or thinning. The bores are bright with sharp rifling. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The faux-pearl grips are in excellent condition, retaining a high polish with no visible cracks or chips. The included original box shows light storage wear but remains structurally sound.
