Description
A Shooting Chrony Alpha model ballistic chronograph used for measuring the muzzle velocity of projectiles from firearms, airguns, or archery equipment. The device is constructed with a red-painted metal folding housing. The front panel displays the Shooting CHRONY logo in white with a crosshair graphic and bullet trajectory line. The base of the metal housing is stamped MADE IN CANADA and features an incised mark reading F1-1200. The item is accompanied by its original cardboard retail packaging which includes manufacturer addresses in Mississauga, Ontario, and North Tonawanda, New York. A yellowed retail sticker on the box identifies the model as ALPHA CHRONOGRAPH. Included with the unit are eight metal support rods, one wooden support rod, and two 9V batteries (one Rayovac High Energy and one Enegitech rechargeable lithium-ion) in a clear plastic storage case.
Condition report:
The chronograph is in good used condition with minor surface wear and scuffing to the red finish consistent with field use. The interior electronics appear intact; however, the unit has not been tested for operational functionality. The support rods show no significant bending. The original box is present and exhibits shelf wear, staining, and age-related yellowing to the tape and stickers. Plastic skyscreen diffusers, typically required for standard operation, are not included. Batteries are included but their charge state is unknown.
