Description
This is a Lyman 450 bullet sizer and lubricator press manufactured by the Lyman Gun Sight Corp. of Middlefield, Connecticut. The tool features a heavy cast-metal frame with the maker name LYMAN molded in relief on the side. It is designed for bench mounting via a flanged base. The mechanical assembly includes a steel linkage system operated by a long lever handle fitted with a red fluted plastic grip. This tool is used in the ammunition reloading process to size cast lead bullets and apply lubricant into the grease grooves. The unit includes a pressure screw at the top and a sizing die station at the base of the stroke. No additional sizing dies or top punches are included with this lot.
Condition report:
The tool is in fair vintage condition. Significant surface oxidation and light rust are present across the cast frame and steel components. The red plastic handle grip is intact but shows scuffing, wear, and accumulated grime. The mechanical linkage moves, but the item has not been tested for functional precision. Sold as-is.
