Lot 1546:
Description
This lot consists of two boxes of Remington .380 Automatic ammunition, containing a total of 98 centerfire cartridges. Both boxes are labeled for 95-grain Metal Case (M.C.) bullets with index number 1238 and feature the Remington Kleanbore priming brand. The ammunition is housed in original green cardboard boxes with red and white graphics, including the DuPont logo. A physical count confirms the top box contains 48 cartridges arranged in a white plastic tray, with one cartridge resting horizontally across the third row and one empty position in the far right of the fifth row. The bottom box contains a full count of 50 cartridges packed in an alternating primer-and-tip configuration. The individual cartridges feature brass cases with headstamps marked R – P 380 AUTO and copper-jacketed round-nose bullets. Verbatim markings on the packaging include 380 AUTOMATIC 95 GRAIN M.C. BULLET INDEX 1238 and 380 AUTO. PISTOL 95 GRAIN METAL CASE INDEX 1238.
Condition report:
The cardboard packaging exhibits moderate shelf wear consistent with age, including corner fraying, surface scuffing, and tape residue with associated paper loss on one end flap. The cartridges appear to be in good condition with minor surface tarnish typical for vintage ammunition. The brass cases and copper jackets show no significant corrosion or verdigris. The ammunition appears to be live and the primers are intact.
