Description
This Lyman WJS receiver-mounted aperture sight is designed for use with the Winchester Model 70 rifle. Constructed of blued steel, the sight features knurled knobs for precise windage and elevation adjustments. Key markings include the manufacturer and model designation LYMAN WJS stamped on the base of the mounting block. The face of the vertical adjustment bar features an engraved jumping deer trademark situated above the text REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. along with a vertical scale marked 0, 15, 30, 45, and 60. The item is contained within a clear plastic package featuring a label marked LYMAN WJS and a handwritten label reading MOD. 70 WIN. indicating its intended application.
Condition report:
The sight is in fair overall condition. The blued finish shows light wear along the edges and some thinning. There is visible surface oxidation and light to moderate pitting present on the adjustment dials and the graduated scales. The knurling on the knobs remains distinct, and the mechanical adjustments appear to move freely, though they have not been mounted or zeroed. Accumulated dust and debris are present in the crevices of the assembly.
