Lot 311:
Sold for: $65
Description
This lot features a collection of 6 leather handgun holsters of various configurations designed for revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. The group includes a tan leather holster with dual retention straps featuring a snap marked BUCHEIMER surrounding a central bird logo. Also present is a black pebbled leather holster with white contrast stitching and a large embossed circular logo containing the intertwined characters S and W for Smith and Wesson. The collection is rounded out by a medium brown holster with an embossed basketweave pattern and dual-snap retention, a dark mahogany-colored holster with a diagonal snap strap, a well-worn dark brown leather holster with a single large metal snap, and a large wide-profile dark brown holster with prominent white perimeter stitching. These holsters represent various mid-to-late 20th-century manufacturers and styles.
Condition report:
The collection shows a range of conditions from moderate to heavy field wear. Common issues include surface scuffing, leather cracking, loss of finish, and verdigris on brass components. The Bucheimer holster shows significant darkening and wear to the retention straps. The Smith and Wesson holster exhibits heavy pebbling and some softening of the leather. Stitching remains largely intact across the lot, though some fraying is present on the larger dark brown holster. All snaps appear to be functional.
