Lot 1109:
RCBS Precisioneered Three-Die Reloading Set .45 Colt 1987
Sold for: $35
Description
A three-die reloading set manufactured by RCBS for the .45 Colt cartridge, specifically configured for use with round nose bullets. The set is housed in its original green plastic hinged case and includes a steel sizer and decapper die, an expander die, and a seating and crimping die, each featuring knurled adjustment caps and locking rings for precise reloading operations. An additional decapping pin assembly is included within the case. Key markings transcribed from the exterior factory labels include the RCBS logo and Precisioneered Reloading Dies, along with OMARK Industries Sporting Equipment Division. The end label identifies the contents as Group B, Part # 19105, and specifies the Use Shell Holder # 20. Stamped and handwritten notations on the label indicate 3 DIE SET 45 COLT RN and the number 87, which corresponds to the 1987 year of manufacture. A vintage National Gun Sales price sticker is affixed to the front left of the case.
Condition report:
The three steel dies are in well-maintained condition, showing a bright metal finish with only minor signs of use and light handling marks. The knurling on the adjustment caps and lock rings is sharp and intact. The threaded portions of the dies appear clean and undamaged. The original green plastic case exhibits typical shelf wear, including surface scuffs and minor soiling, while the labels remain largely legible despite some age-related discoloration and adhesive degradation.
