A vintage multi-pump pneumatic air rifle manufactured by Benjamin Franklin. The rifle is chambered for .177 caliber pellets. The barrel and receiver assembly are constructed of brass, which originally featured a black finish. The stock and the ribbed, cylindrical pump handle are made of dark wood. This model features a bolt-action loading mechanism and a side-mounted manual safety lever. Stamped on the left side of the receiver is the maker’s mark BENJAMIN FRANKLIN and MADE IN U.S.A. The right side of the receiver is stamped CAL. 177 and COCK HAMMER TO RELEASE SAFETY. The rifle is equipped with a fixed front blade sight, an adjustable leaf rear sight, a metal trigger guard, and a black buttplate. The pneumatic system is powered by manual pumping of the wooden foregrip.
Condition report:
This item is in used, vintage condition. The metal components show significant wear to the original black finish, with a large portion of the underlying brass exposed. The metal displays a varied patina and some surface oxidation. The wooden stock and pump handle are intact and solid, showing typical minor scratches, dings, and surface wear consistent with age and use. The mechanical functionality, including the ability to hold air and fire, is untested.
