Description
This Mossberg Model 500A is a pump action shotgun chambered for 12 gauge, designed for versatile sporting and field use. It features a 28 inch ventilated rib barrel equipped with a brass bead front sight and the Accu-Choke system. The barrel is marked with the following verbatim text: MOSSBERG, CHAMBERED FOR 2 3/4 AND 3 IN SHELLS, 12 GA – 28 IN ACCU-CHOKE, and MADE IN U.S.A. The top of the receiver bears the markings Mossberg, MADE IN USA, NORTH HAVEN, CONN, 500A, and 12 GA, along with the serial number J722974. The firearm is configured with a checkered wood stock and forend, providing a classic aesthetic and textured grip. A Weaver Bantam scope is mounted to the receiver, featuring a reticle with a central circle and crosshairs. The receiver spine shows an irregular coating where the scope is mounted. The buttstock is finished with a ventilated black rubber recoil pad. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in used condition with significant cosmetic wear. The blued finish on the barrel and magazine tube shows thinning and scattered scratches. There is a heavy, irregular black coating or substance applied to the top of the receiver around the scope mount area. The wood stock and forend show numerous dings and scratches consistent with field use, though the checkering remains functional. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The bore was not inspected.
