Gun Collectors Dream Auction #84 June 13th & 14th
Lot 1577:
Sold for: $30
Description
This lot consists of a trio of Jafin Light Load indoor training kits designed for use with .357 caliber revolvers. These kits were designed to allow shooters to practice accuracy and dry-fire techniques in a home setting using low-power components. Each kit is housed in a wood-grain patterned cardboard box with prominent gold-tone lettering. The lids are marked verbatim with LIGHT LOAD and JAFIN PRODUCTS, along with distributor information for Jacob & Tiffin Inc. of P.O. Box 547, Clanton, Alabama. The text further notes that the product was manufactured in Japan and includes the promotional line Improve your shooting accuracy in the comfort of your home at a fraction of the cost. Side labels specify Catalog No. 357-2 and Patent Pending. Internal components include a training cylinder assembly, a barrel insert, a branded white target tube, and instructional literature featuring an illustration of a Smith & Wesson revolver. A small informational card regarding the NRA is also present within the packaging. Two of the three kits appear to remain in their original clear shrink-wrap, while one box is open for inspection.
Condition report:
The kits appear to be in excellent, likely unused condition. The wood-grain cardboard boxes show minor shelf wear, including light rubbing at the corners and edges and some superficial scuffing to the lid surfaces. The internal components, including the black-finished training cylinders and barrel inserts, show no signs of use, corrosion, or mechanical wear. The instructional papers and target tubes are crisp and clean. One box is open; the other two remain sealed in their original plastic wrapping.
