Description
This lot features a pair of Smith and Wesson Model M-1900 leg irons accompanied by a collection of keys. The leg irons are constructed from nickel-plated steel and consist of two adjustable cuffs connected by a heavy-duty twist-link chain. Each cuff utilizes a standard double-lock mechanism. The lock housing on one side is stamped with the following identifying text: M-1900, MADE IN U.S.A., MARCAS REGISTRADAS, SMITH AND WESSON, HOULTON, ME. The opposite side of the housing is stamped with the serial number 603095. Included in this set is a large metal split-ring holding a collection of barrel-style keys. The heads of the keys are stamped with PEERLESS, HANDCUFF CO, and SPRINGFIELD MASS. These keys are standard barrel-style keys compatible with the locking mechanisms on the Smith and Wesson leg irons.
Condition report:
The overall condition is good, showing signs of use appropriate for professional law enforcement gear. Observable wear includes light surface scratches, minor pitting, and some thinning to the nickel plating. The mechanical locking components appear to be in functional working order.
