Description

This is a Savage Model 12 bolt-action rifle chambered in .223 Remington, purpose-built for precision varmint hunting and long-range target shooting. The firearm features a heavy-contour blued barrel fitted with a multi-port muzzle brake and a matching blued receiver with a polished bolt and knurled handle. It is housed in a durable black synthetic Choate Ultimate Varmint thumbhole stock, which includes an adjustable cheek rest, buttstock spacers for length-of-pull adjustment, and an integrated accessory rail on the underside of the forend. Prominent markings include the barrel inscription SAVAGE MODEL 12, CAL. .223 REM. SAVAGE ARMS INC., WESTFIELD, MASS. U.S.A. and the serial number F702230 engraved on the left side of the receiver. The stock features an oval medallion reading THE ULTIMATE VARMINT Designed By Maj. John Plaster. The rifle is topped with a large variable-power telescopic sight featuring a mil-dot reticle and flip-up lens covers. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The blued finish on the barrel and receiver shows minor surface wear and light handling marks consistent with moderate field use. The polished bolt body exhibits typical finish wear from cycling. The synthetic stock remains in good condition with minor scuffs and superficial scratches but no structural damage. The telescopic sight appears to have clear glass with an intact reticle, though internal adjustments have not been tested. The bore was not inspected. The action appears to function correctly, but we have not function-tested this firearm.
