Description

A collection of seven pieces of mid-20th-century Swiss military leather equipment, primarily consisting of ammunition and utility pouches manufactured circa 1941. This group features three black pebbled leather ammunition pouches for the Schmidt-Rubin or K31 rifle, each with metal stud closures and single belt loops on the reverse. Two brown pebbled leather ammunition pouches are included, characterized by circular reinforcement stitching on the front flaps. The collection also contains one tall black leather utility pouch with a squared flap and wide closure strap, and one smaller black leather accessory pouch with a rounded flap and stud closure. One pouch is stamped on the reverse H. Oberholzer / Zürich / 41, identifying the maker and production year. Another piece bears a Swiss military acceptance stamp consisting of a small shield containing a Swiss cross above the letter J. The items are constructed from heavy-duty leather with brass and steel studs, D-rings, and heavy-gauge thread stitching.

Condition report:

The collection shows varying degrees of service wear. The black leather pouches are generally in good to very good condition with supple leather. The two brown leather pouches exhibit more significant signs of aging, including surface dryness and crazing. One small black pouch has a torn closure strap at the stud hole. Metal components show light oxidation and patina consistent with age and field use.
