Description

A pair of World War II period US Army Carlisle Model first aid packets. The lot includes two embossed metal tins with distinct exterior finishes. One tin features an olive drab painted finish with embossed text identifying the manufacturer as Bauer and Black, Division of the Kendall Co., Chicago. The second tin is finished in a high-visibility orange-red paint with matching manufacturer markings and all-caps embossed text. Both containers are constructed with integrated pull-tab opening mechanisms. The interior of the olive drab tin shows mirrored embossed text for the Handy Pad Supply Co. of Worcester, Massachusetts. Accompanying medical components include one original sterile gauze field dressing featuring red orientation markings and one paper packet of sulfanilamide powder with printed instructions for use and safety warnings.

Condition report:

Both items are in good vintage condition. The metal tins exhibit typical signs of age and field use, including surface scratches, scattered paint loss, and light oxidation concentrated along the edges and seams. Pull-tabs remain present and intact. The internal medical components appear original and unused; however, they are sold strictly as historical collectibles and are no longer suitable for medical use.
