Lot 134:
Sold for: $20
Description
This collection of United States military load-bearing equipment consists of field gear components spanning from the Vietnam War through the Cold War era. Included are M1956 Small Arms Ammunition Pouches constructed of heavy olive drab cotton canvas. These pouches feature a strap-and-buckle closure system and a top lift-the-dot fastener tab. Also included are ALICE (All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment) M16 magazine pouches made of olive drab nylon webbing. These nylon pouches utilize plastic pinch-release buckles and feature side pockets for hand grenades; both are marked with black stenciled US property marks on the front. The group is completed by an individual equipment belt, or pistol belt, made of heavy-duty olive drab nylon webbing. The belt features three rows of metal eyelets for gear attachment and a metal hook-and-loop buckle with a sliding keeper.
Condition report:
The canvas M1956 pouches show heavy field use with significant fading and fraying to the fabric. The nylon ALICE pouches and the web belt are in good overall condition, showing typical signs of military surplus storage and light use. All metal hardware shows some finish loss and minor oxidation.
