Description

This lot consists of 80 rounds of 30-06 SPRG on enbloc clips, specifically configured for use with the M1 Garand service rifle. The collection is comprised of ten steel en bloc clips, each holding eight rounds of ammunition. The cartridges feature brass casings and copper-jacketed spitzer projectiles. Verbatim markings on the cartridge headstamps include the letters SL at the top and the numbers 43 at the bottom, indicating manufacture by the St. Louis Ordnance Plant in 1943. The steel clips are finished with a dark Parkerized coating and feature distinctive circular embossed patterns on their base plates. The items are arranged in two rows, with six clips in the rear and four clips in the foreground.

Condition report:

The ammunition and clips show signs of age and long-term storage consistent with military surplus. The brass cases exhibit varying degrees of tarnish and oxidation, with noticeable green verdigris present on several rounds, particularly in the second clip from the left in the rear row. The copper-jacketed bullets show a dark patina. The steel en bloc clips show surface wear, minor scratches, and localized areas of oxidation through the finish but remain structurally sound. The ammunition appears to be live; however, it is sold as a collectible item and we have not function-tested this ammunition.
