Description
This is a single WWII German P08 Luger hard shell pistol holster manufactured in 1941. The holster is constructed from heavy-gauge blackened leather with off-white contrast stitching. The body is molded into a hard shell form specifically for the Pistole 08 (Luger). It features an integrated spare magazine pouch on the forward spine and two vertical leather belt loops secured with heavy stitching on the reverse. The top flap is secured by a leather closure strap that threads through a small metal buckle. The reverse of the holster features several stamped markings. At the top right, it is stamped P08. Centered between the belt loops is a three-line manufacturer stamp reading E. G. LEUNER G.m.b.H. / BAUTZEN / 1941. Below the date is a military inspection stamp consisting of a Reichsadler (eagle) over the code WaA170.
Condition report:
The leather remains supple and retains a moderate sheen, though visible surface wear and scuffing are present at the high points, edges, and the base of the holster. The closure strap exhibits more pronounced wear, including surface cracking and thinning around the adjustment holes. The original white stitching is largely intact and tight, with minor areas of fraying and age-related discoloration. The metal buckle shows a significant loss of its original black finish, now displaying a dark patina and minor surface oxidation. The internal molding of the holster remains well-defined.
