Description

This lot contains 118 rounds of 8mm Mauser (7.92x57mm) military surplus ammunition featuring brass cases and copper-jacketed spitzer-type full metal jacket (FMJ) bullets. The collection displays a range of manufacturing origins evidenced by varied headstamp markings, including Chinese production marked 10, x, 1951, and 7.9, as well as Egyptian production featuring the Arabic script مصر for Egypt alongside Western numerals 1957 and Arabic numerals representing 1956 (١٩٥٦), 15 (١٥), and 7.92 (٧,٩٢). Many of the cartridges exhibit black or purple asphaltic sealant at the primer pockets and case mouths, which is characteristic of military-specification ammunition intended for long-term humidity protection. The rounds are presented loose and show physical characteristics consistent with mid-20th-century surplus inventory batches.

Condition report:

The ammunition is in good surplus condition, exhibiting surface tarnish, oxidation, and a matured patina consistent with historical military storage. The primers remain unspent and seated at the proper depth. There is no significant corrosion or mechanical deformation noted on the brass cases or projectiles. The lot is sold for historical interest or as ammunition components.
