Description

This presentation set features a Mauser Bolo Model C96 semi-automatic pistol chambered in 7.63mm Mauser, also known as .30 Mauser. The pistol is configured with a 3.9-inch barrel and a tangent rear sight graduated from 50 to 1000 meters. The firearm retains a strong blued finish throughout the barrel, bolt extension, and frame, and is fitted with replacement light-colored smooth wood grips. Verbatim markings on the right side of the frame include Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf A-Neckar, while the barrel bridge is marked Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf A/N. The matching serial number 486555 is stamped on the frame, hammer, and bolt extension. A German Crown over U proof mark is present on the left side of the barrel extension. The pistol is accompanied by a wooden shoulder stock holster featuring a steel mounting iron and a hinged buttplate. The entire set is housed in a custom green velvet-lined wooden presentation case featuring an exterior plaque for Edward A. Triggs 1991. The interior of the case lid contains a map titled Europe Showing the Military Pistols of Imperial Germany and Her World War I Allies, and the set includes a period military portrait photograph and a lapel pin. Also included in the lot are two stripper clips containing a total of 20 rounds of 7.63mm Mauser ammunition. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The pistol is in very good condition, exhibiting a strong blued finish with minor thinning at the high points and edges of the frame and barrel. The replacement wood grips are in excellent condition with no significant wear. The wooden shoulder stock shows attractive grain with minor handling marks and a secure hinge mechanism. The interior of the wooden presentation case is well-preserved, and the exterior shows minor scuffs consistent with age. The action appears to function correctly, though it has not been function-tested with live ammunition. The included ammunition cases show a light patina but appear to be in live, usable condition.
