Description
This is a Chinese-manufactured semi-automatic Norinco Type 56 SKS rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm. The rifle features a 20 inch barrel equipped with an integral folding spike-style bayonet and a steel cleaning rod mounted underneath. The metal components exhibit a blued finish, while the bolt carrier remains in the white with a bright, unfinished appearance. It is fitted with a light-colored wood stock and handguard featuring a smooth finish and a metal buttplate with a spring-loaded trapdoor for storage. Sighting is provided by a hooded post front sight and a tangent rear sight graduated from 1 to 10. The rifle is equipped with a fixed 10-round box magazine and includes a green canvas sling with leather attachment tabs. Key markings include the left side of the receiver stamped with the serial number 9018367 and the text CAT ST ALB VT and NORINCO CHINA 7.62X39. Matching partial serial numbers 18367 are visible on the bolt carrier and the right side of the buttstock. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in good surplus condition. The blued finish on the receiver and barrel shows minor edge wear and light handling marks, primarily around the magazine and trigger guard. The bolt carrier is bright with no significant staining. The wooden stock is solid with various dings, scratches, and small compressions consistent with military surplus handling, but retains much of its glossy finish. The bore is not visible for inspection. The action appears to function correctly when cycled by hand, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The sling and bayonet are in good working order.
