Gun Collectors Dream Auction #85 Weapons of War July 18th 10AM CST
Lot 205:
Sold for: $50
Description
This lot consists of 100 Rounds Of 7.62x39mm Ammunition presented in ten individual factory-sealed blister packs. This specialized East German military surplus was designed for short-range practice and exercise, typically issued to the National People’s Army (NVA). The cartridges feature steel cases and specialized training projectiles, designated as the M43 Üb (Übung) pattern. Prominent markings embossed on the front of each plastic blister pack include “10 Stück”, “M 43 Üb”, and a small numeral “2”. The brown paper backing for each pack features repeating printed text verbatim as “10 Stück”, “10 Stück”, “10 Stück” and “M 43 Üb”, “M 43 Üb”, “M 43 Üb” separated by horizontal black bars. This collection provides a complete group of ten packs, preserving the original cold war era military packaging and offering a unique historical specimen for the ammunition collector or firearms enthusiast.
Condition report:
The ammunition and its original packaging are in good surplus condition. The transparent plastic blister packs have aged and yellowed significantly over time, becoming somewhat brittle, but all ten units remain factory sealed. The paper backings show various degrees of shelf wear, including some minor staining and light foxing. Within the sealed environments, the cartridges appear well-preserved with bright steel cases and no visible signs of significant oxidation, moisture intrusion, or corrosion. This is live ammunition and appears functional, though we have not test-fired any rounds from this lot.
