Description
One pair of United States Army M3 6×30 field binoculars produced during World War II. The binoculars feature an olive drab metal frame and a textured green vulcanite-style covering on the barrels. This model utilizes an individual focus system with graduated diopter adjustment rings on each eyepiece. The left prism cover is stamped with the characters BINOCULAR M3 6X30. The right prism cover is stamped UNIVERSAL CAMERA CORP. NEW YORK, U.S.A. The central hinge cap is stamped with the serial number NO. 218988. The eyepiece adjustment scales feature numerical markings ranging from +4 to -4.
Condition report:
Good, field-used condition. There is visible paint loss and brassing on the high points of the metal frame, specifically around the objective lens housings, prism covers, and eyepieces. The textured vulcanite body covering is intact but shows moderate surface wear and minor scuffing. The optics are present, though internal clarity and collimation have not been professionally tested. No carrying case or neck strap is present.
