Description

This East German Makarov Model M is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x18mm Makarov. The firearm features a high-polish blued finish and is fitted with a one-piece black checkered wrap-around synthetic grip with a left-side thumb rest. Key markings include the matching serial number BU 5739 stamped on the left side of both the slide and the frame. The left side of the frame also displays the production year 62, a Cyrillic character Y, and proof marks consisting of a diamond and K100 within a box. The front strap of the grip frame bears the manufacturer and import markings ERNST THAELMANN MOD. M and 9MM IACO SACCA GERMANY MM2655. The pistol is equipped with fixed sights, including a front blade and a rear notch. This lot includes a pair of two single-stack magazines and a brown leather flap holster. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The pistol is in very good condition, retaining a high percentage of its original blued finish. Minor finish wear is visible on the muzzle and the forward high points of the slide, consistent with light holster use. The synthetic grips are in excellent condition with crisp checkering and no significant scratches or chips. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The pair of magazines show standard insertion wear but remain structurally sound. The brown leather holster is in good condition with supple leather and intact stitching, exhibiting some light surface scuffs and minor age-related cracking on the flap.
