Lot 282:
Sold for: $450
Description
This is a single Izhevsk Nagant Model 1895 double-action revolver chambered in 7.62x38mmR. It features a 4.5-inch round barrel with a seven-round cylinder and utilizes a unique gas-seal system where the cylinder moves forward during firing to close the gap between the barrel and cylinder. The metal surfaces exhibit a blued finish throughout the frame and barrel. The furniture consists of two-piece checkered wood grips held in place by a central screw, with a steel lanyard ring at the base of the grip. Sighting is provided by a fixed front blade and a notch rear sight integrated into the top of the frame. Key markings include the Izhevsk Arsenal symbol of a triangle containing an upward-pointing arrow located on the left side of the frame, positioned above the manufacture date 1944г. The serial number PБ354 is stamped vertically on the left side of the frame forward of the cylinder. Import markings on the right side of the barrel read 7.62 NAGANT RUSSIA CAI ST ALB VT. Various small inspector proof marks are visible on the trigger guard, hammer, frame, and grip base. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish exhibits approximately 85-90% coverage with thinning on the high edges, holster wear at the muzzle, and scattered light scratches and handling marks consistent with its age and military service. The checkered wood grips show moderate handling wear but remain solid with no visible cracks or significant chips. The bore is bright with sharp, well-defined rifling and no signs of pitting. The action appears to function correctly in both single and double-action modes, and the cylinder indexing and lockup appear secure. We have not function-tested this firearm.
