Description

This lot consists of 400 rounds of .303 British caliber rifle ammunition manufactured by the Greek Powder and Cartridge Company, commonly known as Pyrkal. The cartridges are loose-packed within a metal M19A1-style ammunition can. While the exterior of the can is stenciled for 7.62mm NATO, the contents are identified by their headstamps as .303 British ball ammunition. Verbatim markings on the headstamps include HXP 69 and HXP 73, identifying the manufacturer and production years of 1969 and 1973. The ammunition can features yellow stenciled text reading 200 CARTRIDGES 7.62 MM, M13 CARTONS, 1 M62-4 M80 along with a Lake City lot number LC-12A604L808. The cartridges utilize brass cases and copper-alloy jacketed projectiles.

Condition report:

The ammunition is in varied condition, exhibiting significant surface tarnish and oxidation across many of the brass cases. Several cartridges show visible green verdigris corrosion, particularly around the primer pockets and case shoulders. The projectiles show standard darkening and minor oxidation consistent with long-term storage. The metal ammunition can shows typical service wear including scratches, small paint chips, and localized surface rust, but remains structurally sound with a functional latch and handle. This ammunition is sold as-is; we have not function-tested these rounds and make no warranties regarding their performance or safety.
