Description

This lot features 85 rounds of .303 British caliber rifle ammunition manufactured by the Greek Powder and Cartridge Company, recognized by the HXP headstamp. The cartridges are provided on steel five-round stripper clips, some of which are stamped with the BP marking. The ammunition utilizes brass casings that show prominent annealing discoloration around the neck and shoulder, a standard feature of military-specification production. The rounds are loaded with copper-jacketed spitzer projectiles and feature primers with a green lacquer sealant for moisture resistance. Case head markings include varying production year stamps such as 64, 68, and 82. This group of ammunition is representative of mid-20th-century Greek military production intended for use in Enfield-pattern rifles and other firearms chambered for the .303 British cartridge.

Condition report:

The ammunition is in good surplus condition overall. The brass cartridge cases exhibit some surface tarnishing and minor discoloration but are free from significant corrosion or structural defects. The copper-jacketed projectiles show minor handling wear and light oxidation. The black-finished steel stripper clips remain functional, though they display thinning to the finish and occasional small spots of light surface rust. The cardboard boxes are intact but show signs of handling including creases, edge wear, and remnants of adhesive tape. The ammunition appears to be live and properly stored.
