Sold for: $425
Description
This Polish Model 44 (M44) Mosin-Nagant bolt action carbine is chambered in 7.62x54R and represents a high-quality example of Cold War-era military arms from the Radom factory. The firearm is configured with a shortened carbine-length barrel and a characteristic integral side-folding spike bayonet. The metal surfaces feature a deep, uniform blued finish on the round receiver, barrel, and magazine assembly. It is fitted with a light-colored blonde beechwood stock featuring a straight wrist, finger grooves in the forend, and steel-reinforced sling slots. The sights consist of a hooded post at the muzzle and a tangent rear sight graduated from 100 to 1,000 meters. Key markings on the barrel shank include the Radom factory code circle 11, the manufacture date 1953, and the serial number KB 12125. This serial number KB 12125 is matched on the bolt handle, the magazine floorplate, and the top of the buttplate. An import mark on the side of the receiver reads CDI SWAN. VT MOD.44 7.62X54R MADE IN POLAND. A diamond-shaped proof mark is visible on the right side of the buttstock. The carbine includes its matching serial-numbered components, a cleaning rod stored beneath the barrel, and a green canvas sling with leather dog-collar attachments. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The carbine appears to be in excellent, near-unissued condition. The blued finish is exceptionally well-preserved with no significant wear, thinning, or corrosion noted on the external surfaces. The blonde wood stock is in very good condition, displaying a clean surface with only a few minor handling marks or storage dings. The action appears to function smoothly, and the bolt locks up tightly. While the bore was not inspected, the external condition suggests minimal use. The folding bayonet mechanism is fully functional and locks securely. The canvas sling and leather straps are intact and in good serviceable condition.
