Lot 339:
Sold for: $550
Description
This is a French military training rifle manufactured by Manufacture d’armes de Saint-Etienne, chambered in .22 Long Rifle. The rifle features a 24-inch barrel and is built on a bolt-action mechanism designed to simulate the feel of full-sized service rifles for marksmanship training. The metal surfaces exhibit a matte gray-green parkerized finish. Verbatim markings on the receiver bridge include the MAS logo within an oval over the model designation Mod 45. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the serial number F 25778. Markings on the side of the barrel specify the chambering as cal 5,5 – 22 long rifle. The firearm is mounted in a plain wood stock featuring a semi-pistol grip and a straight comb, finished with a steel buttplate that also bears the MAS oval logo. It is equipped with a ramped front sight and a rear tangent sight graduated from 30 to 150. A brown leather sling is attached via side-mounted swivels, and the lot includes one single detachable five-round box magazine. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in good overall condition. The matte parkerized finish shows some typical thinning and wear on the barrel and higher points of the receiver. The steel buttplate exhibits surface oxidation and some light pitting. The wood stock is in good condition with various handling marks, light scratches, and small dings consistent with its age and military training use. The action appears to function correctly, although the firearm has not been function-tested. The leather sling remains supple with minor surface cracking and signs of previous use.
