Description
This is a Soviet Russian Mosin-Nagant Model 91/30 socket-style spike bayonet, manufactured at the Izhevsk Arsenal. The bayonet features a cruciform, four-sided blade made of blued steel, terminating in a flattened screwdriver tip designed for field maintenance of the rifle. The mounting system utilizes a spring-loaded locking latch mechanism. Visible markings on the socket include the Izhevsk factory logo, represented by an upward-pointing arrow within a triangle. Stamped directly below the factory mark is the serial number 1 6 7 9. Additional factory inspection and proof marks are present on both sides of the socket, including the digits 3 and 0, and a diamond-shaped stamp containing a character.
Condition report:
The bayonet is in good condition, retaining a significant amount of its original dark blued finish. Minor surface oxidation and light pitting are present, particularly near the blade tip and on the locking ring. The spring-loaded latch mechanism remains intact and functional.
