Description

This Springfield Armory M1 Garand is a semi-automatic military rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. Built for standard infantry issue, the rifle features a 24-inch barrel and is finished with a durable gray Parkerizing on the receiver and major metal components. The furniture is comprised of a multi-piece American walnut stock and handguard set, which includes a steel buttplate fitted with a hinged trapdoor for the storage of cleaning tools or accessories. Sighting is handled by standard military-specification adjustable aperture rear sights and a protected blade front sight. Key markings include the receiver heel stamped verbatim U.S. RIFLE / CAL. .30 M1 / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY over the serial number 3246323. The barrel, visible through the operating rod channel, is marked SA D6535448 9 53 MD38, indicating it was produced by Springfield Armory in September 1953. Additional stamps include the number 6869 on the left side of the buttstock and 101 / M on the right side. The rifle is equipped with three sling swivels located at the butt, mid-section, and gas cylinder. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The Parkerized metal finish remains in good condition, showing expected thinning and silvering on the high edges, receiver rails, and bolt from mechanical operation. The walnut stock and handguards show character consistent with military service, exhibiting various small dings, shallow scratches, and handling indentations, but no major cracks or structural failures are present. The bore is bright with crisp, well-defined rifling. The action appears to function correctly and locks back on an empty chamber, though the rifle has not been function-tested with live ammunition.
