Gun Collectors Dream Auction #85 Weapons of War July 18th 10AM CST
Lot 412:
Sold for: $80
Description
This lot features three leather pistol holsters in patterns used for German service and pocket sidearms, specifically the Walther P38 and 7.65mm pistols such as the Walther PPK. The collection includes one brown leather pocket pistol holster and two hardshell service holsters. The pocket holster is designed with a side-folding top flap secured by a single leather strap and silver-toned metal stud. It features an integrated magazine pouch on the leading edge and a wide belt loop on the reverse secured by three metal rivets. The two hardshell holsters are patterned for the Walther P38 service pistol, with one example in brown leather and one in black leather. These service holsters feature large top-folding flaps, long leather pull straps with blackened metal studs, and side-mounted magazine pouches. Both hardshell examples are assembled with heavy-duty white contrast stitching and feature a single broad belt loop on the reverse. No manufacturer markings, three-letter codes, dates, or Waffenamt inspection stamps are visible on any of the holsters.
Condition report:
The pocket pistol holster shows signs of field use including surface scuffing, particularly on the edges and belt loop, and minor oxidation on the metal stud. The two hardshell holsters are in excellent, near-mint condition with very little evidence of handling and bright white stitching throughout.
