Lot 414:
Steyr M.95 Straight-Pull Bolt-Action Carbine 8x56mmR with 5 Stripper Clips
Sold for: $450
Description
This lot features a Steyr M.95 straight-pull bolt-action carbine chambered in 8x56mmR, an Austrian military design recognized for its fast-operating straight-pull bolt and en-bloc magazine system. The carbine is configured with a short barrel, a hooded post front sight, a rear ladder sight, a stacking rod, and a bayonet lug. The receiver bridge is prominently stamped STEYR over M.95, and a large letter S is stamped on the top of the barrel shank, signifying its conversion to the 8x56mmR cartridge. Key markings include the matching serial number 3786 on the left side of the receiver, the barrel shank, and the bolt handle. An importer’s mark on the left side of the receiver reads M95 8x56R STEYR AUSTRIA C.A.I. GEORGIA VT. The wood stock exhibits a smooth reddish-brown finish with a semi-pistol grip and a metal buttplate stamped with the letter K. The carbine is accompanied by 5 stripper clips, specifically the steel en-bloc clips necessary for the operation of the internal magazine. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal components retain approximately 95% of a dark blued finish, likely from an arsenal refurbishment, with minor thinning on the bolt handle and sharp edges. The bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling. The straight-pull bolt action appears to function smoothly and lock correctly, though we have not function-tested the firearm. The wood stock is in very good condition with minor handling dings and surface scratches consistent with arsenal storage and service. The 5 stripper clips are in good condition, showing some finish wear and small spots of light surface oxidation.
