Description

This lot consists of three U.S. military rifle magazines for the .30 caliber M1 Carbine series of firearms, compatible with M1, M1A1, and M2 models. The group includes two 30-round high-capacity magazines and one standard 15-round magazine. All pieces are of stamped steel construction with a dark blued or parkerized finish. The two 30-round magazines feature the reinforced split rear locking lugs designed for use with the M2 select-fire carbine magazine catch, while remaining backward compatible with standard M1 carbines. The 15-round magazine features a standard single-lug arrangement. Manufacturer markings are located on the rear spines of each magazine. The leftmost 30-round magazine is marked AI, indicating production by the Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors. The center 30-round magazine is marked S-I, also attributed to the Inland Manufacturing Division. The rightmost 15-round magazine is marked U, attributed to Underwood Elliott Fisher. The leftmost magazine bears a white adhesive inventory label with the handwritten number 30313.

Condition report:

The magazines are in good surplus condition, showing evidence of field use and long-term storage. There is significant finish wear and thinning throughout the bodies. Visible spots of surface oxidation and light rust are present, most notably on the 15-round magazine and the right side of the center 30-round magazine. The internal springs and followers are present and appear functional.
