Description

This lot features 88 rounds of .30-06 Springfield caliber ammunition, designated as M2 Armor Piercing, mounted on steel en-bloc clips intended for use with the M1 Garand rifle. The cartridges are fitted with copper-jacketed projectiles featuring black-painted tips, the standard military identification for armor-piercing rounds. Accompanying the ammunition are two olive drab canvas bandoliers. The upper bandolier is a standard US military issue item stenciled with “CAL.30 A.P. M2 / 8 RD CLIPS / LC 13425,” indicating production at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. The lower bandolier is also olive drab canvas but displays Korean text alongside “5.56MM M193,” with markings translating to “5.56MM Ball Cartridge M193 / 10-round clip”; a large black “X” is marked over the first pocket on the left. The steel en-bloc clips exhibit standard US military patterns, with one base showing a concentric circle pattern. Key markings include the caliber and ammunition type stencils on the canvas and the distinctive black tip coloring on the bullets themselves.

Condition report:

The ammunition and accessories are in good military surplus condition. The cartridge cases and copper jackets show surface tarnish, light oxidation, and age-consistent discoloration, though the black tip paint remains distinct and well-defined. The steel en-bloc clips exhibit some finish thinning and minor surface rust. Both canvas bandoliers show typical signs of field use and storage, including light staining, minor fraying at the stitching, and some fading of the fabric, but all pocket flaps remain intact. The stenciled and handwritten markings remain legible. This ammunition appears to be live and is sold for collectability.
