Description

This is a Chinese Chiang Kai-shek Type 24 bolt-action rifle, a derivative of the Mauser Standardmodell chambered in 7.92x57mm Mauser. This specimen is presented as a parts gun and is notably missing the bolt assembly and the bolt release mechanism. The rifle is stocked in a dark hardwood with a straight grip and a military-style upper handguard. Key markings include the serial number A98635, which is stamped on both the left side of the receiver and the barrel. The receiver ring features a circular arsenal crest above Chinese characters, although these are partially obscured by surface oxidation. The barrel bears the import markings C.A.I. ST ALB VT and MOD. CHINA 7.92 CAL, indicating it was imported by Century Arms International. The metal components exhibit a worn finish with pervasive surface rust and pitting, while the hardwood furniture shows heavy service wear, scratches, and a prominent crack on the left side of the buttstock. A cleaning rod is fitted beneath the barrel. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The rifle is in poor overall condition and is currently non-functional due to the missing bolt assembly and bolt release. The metal surfaces show a heavy, weathered patina with widespread surface rust and significant pitting on the receiver and barrel. The bore is noted as being very rusty with heavy oxidation throughout. The hardwood stock displays extensive wear, including deep scratches, dings, and a notable structural crack on the left side of the butt. The action cannot be cycled or function tested as presented.
