The knife features a carbon steel clip point blade with a serrated saw-tooth spine and a partial fuller. The ricasso is stamped with the manufacturer mark CAMILLUS N.Y. The hilt consists of a straight steel crossguard with two lanyard holes and a grip constructed of stacked leather washers with deep concentric grooves. The pommel is a heavy-duty steel hexagonal nut intended for hammering. The accompanying brown leather sheath includes a front pocket for a sharpening stone and a snap-closure retaining strap, reinforced with metal rivets.
Blade Length: 4.75 inches
Total Length: 9.25 inches.
Condition report:
The knife and sheath are in used, weathered condition. The blade shows significant wear to the original finish with scattered surface oxidation and green verdigris near the guard. The leather handle has darkened with age but remains structurally intact. The pommel shows evidence of white paint or residue on the flat end, partially obscuring any potential markings. The leather sheath exhibits heavy wear, including dry rot and cracking to the belt loops and retaining strap. Verdigris is visible on the metal rivets and snap closure. The sharpening stone is absent.
