Description

This lot consists of 54 rounds of .30-06 SPRG ammunition featuring bottlenecked brass cases and round-nose projectiles with exposed lead tips. The cartridges utilize military-surplus match-grade brass cases from multiple government arsenals. Markings transcribed verbatim from the headstamps on representative samples include F A MATCH 58, F A MATCH 60, and L C MATCH 57, indicating original manufacture by the Frankford Arsenal and Lake City Army Ammunition Plant between 1957 and 1960. The combination of military match-marked brass and soft-point hunting projectiles indicates these rounds are likely handloaded using surplus components. Some primers retain a red sealant from the original manufacturing process.

Condition report:

The ammunition exhibits significant age-related tarnish and a dark patina across the brass cases. The lead-tipped projectiles show heavy oxidation, resulting in a dark gray, textured appearance on the tips. The cartridges appear to be live and intact, though they have not been function-tested for reliability or safety.
