This lot features a US military M19A1 steel ammunition can and a group of disintegrating metal machine gun belt links. The ammunition can is designed for .30 caliber or 7.62mm ammunition and is constructed with a hinged lid, a rubber sealing gasket, a folding top handle, and a side-mounted tension latch. The exterior retains an olive drab green finish. The lot includes an assortment of M13 metal links, which are engineered for use with 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition in belt-fed weapon systems. Several individual links show stamped markings identifying them as the M13 type. No manufacturer stamps or stenciled tactical markings are clearly legible on the exterior of the ammunition can.
Condition report:
The items are in used, military surplus condition. The ammunition can shows moderate wear consistent with field service, including scattered paint loss, scuffs, and significant areas of surface oxidation and rust, particularly along the handle, lid, and base edges. The latch mechanism is functional and the gasket appears intact. The M13 links exhibit a dark gray finish with widespread light surface oxidation and minor pitting throughout.
