Gun Collectors Dream Auction #85 Weapons of War July 18th 10AM CST
Lot 469:
Sold for: $130
Description
This lot consists of 50 rounds of Swiss military-issue 7.5x55mm GP 11 rifle ammunition, partitioned into five original 10-round cardboard boxes. Designed for use in Swiss service rifles such as the K31 and K11 Schmidt-Rubin, this surplus ammunition is highly regarded for its consistency and accuracy. The white paperboard packaging features trilingual labeling in German, French, and Italian, including the designations Gewehrpatrone 11, cartouche 11 pour fusil, and cartuccia 11 per fucile. Visible markings on each box specify the caliber as 7,5 mm GP 11 and feature the production code 591-1100. Lot codes printed on the tan bottom bands indicate production dates in 1978, with boxes marked 30.11.78 T, 16. 5. 78A, and 5. 10. 78A. The packaging remains intact, providing a complete and representative set of late Cold War era Swiss ordnance.
Condition report:
The ammunition boxes are in good overall condition, showing standard signs of storage and handling for military surplus. The white cardboard shows light shelf wear, localized staining, and minor fraying at some corner edges. All boxes appear to be original and contain their factory-loaded rounds. While the individual cartridges have not been inspected, the outer packaging is dry and free of significant damage, suggesting the contents are well-preserved.
