Lot 484:
A Lot of 240 Rounds of 5.56x45mm NATO Ammunition on Stripper Clips with Bandoleer
Sold for: $170
Description
This lot consists of 240 rounds of 5.56x45mm NATO centerfire rifle ammunition, mounted on ten-round metal stripper clips and presented with a canvas bandoleer. The cartridges feature brass cases with prominent annealing at the necks and copper-jacketed spitzer projectiles, consistent with M193 ball ammunition specifications. The stripper clips are manufactured from steel with a gray phosphate finish, and visible markings include 5.56MM-10 RD CLIP-M2 and GGC ASSY 8448553. The accompanying olive drab green canvas ammunition carrier features seven individual pockets arranged in a dual-row configuration with white contrast stitching and an integrated black nylon shoulder strap for field transport. This configuration is typical of United States military ammunition repack kits used for the M16 rifle platform.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in good overall condition, showing minor tarnishing and oxidation on the brass cases consistent with age and long-term storage. The projectiles are securely seated with no signs of significant corrosion at the case mouths or primers. The metal stripper clips exhibit light finish wear and minor instances of surface oxidation but remain functional. The cloth bandoleer is structurally sound with light fraying at the edges and minor fading to the fabric, while the stitching and shoulder strap remain intact. The ammunition appears to be live.
