Description
This Dreyse Vest Pocket semi-automatic pistol is chambered in 6.35mm, also known as .25 ACP, and features a standard 2 inch barrel. The pistol is a classic example of early 20th-century German pocket handgun design, manufactured by Rheinische Metallwaaren- und Maschinenfabrik. It is equipped with a fixed blade front sight and a notched rear sight integrated into the top of the slide. The furniture consists of two-piece black checkered hard rubber grips featuring an oval monogram at the top with the stylized letters RMF. Key markings include the manufacturer name D R E Y S E stamped on the left side of the slide. Three German commercial nitro proof marks, consisting of a crown over the letter N, are visible on the left side across the slide and frame. The right side of the frame, located just above the trigger guard, bears the serial number 5 7 9 4. This lot includes one detachable single-stack magazine with five witness holes on the right side. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The pistol retains a modest amount of its original blued finish, showing significant holster wear and thinning on all high edges. There is a visible brown patina and surface oxidation across the slide and frame, with areas of light pitting concentrated near the muzzle and along the top of the slide. The checkered hard rubber grips are in good condition with minor smoothing to the texture but no visible cracks or significant chips. We have not function-tested this firearm; however, the slide cycles and the trigger appears to engage the internal mechanism correctly. The bore was not inspected. The magazine shows finish wear consistent with the rest of the firearm.
