Lot 495:
Sold for: $325
Description
This is a Soviet Russian Mosin-Nagant Model 1944 bolt action carbine chambered in 7.62x54R. The firearm features a approximately 20.4 inch barrel equipped with its characteristic integral side-folding spike bayonet and includes a cleaning rod stored beneath the barrel. The metal components exhibit a blued finish, while the wood stock is a traditional straight-grip design with a metal buttplate and shows significant finish wear, scratches, and handling marks throughout. Sighting is provided by a hooded post front sight and a tangent rear sight graduated to 1,000 meters. Key markings include a Soviet hammer and sickle within a wreath on the receiver bridge above the production date 1944г and the serial number И Ш 7507. Beneath the serial number is the Izhevsk arsenal mark of an arrow inside a triangle. The serial number И Ш 7507 is stamped on the bolt handle, the magazine floorplate, and the buttplate, indicating that the primary components are matching. The left side of the receiver bears a Century Arms International import mark: M44 RUSSIAN 7.62X54R C.A.I. GEORGIA VT. M44077451. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces retain a fair amount of the original blued finish with thinning and silvering at the high edges, the muzzle, and on the bolt body. The wood stock shows heavy handling wear including various dings, scratches, and areas of flaking finish, but remains structurally sound. The bore was not inspected internally, though the exterior suggests the rifle has seen military service. The bolt action appears to function smoothly and the magazine spring is under tension, though we have not function-tested this firearm.
