Description
This Kokura Arsenal Type 44 bolt-action cavalry carbine is chambered in 6.5x50mm Arisaka and configured for military service. It features a barrel of approximately 19 inches. The receiver and barrel exhibit a blued finish, and the firearm is mounted in a full-length wood stock with finger grooves and side-mounted sling swivels. Key markings include the intact Imperial Chrysanthemum symbol over the Japanese characters 四四式, signifying the Type 44 designation. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number 07804 and the Tokyo/Kokura Arsenal symbol. The firearm is equipped with a winged blade front sight and a ladder-style rear sight. Please note that the folding bayonet blade is missing from its integral housing. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The carbine is in good condition, showing moderate thinning and wear to the bluing on the metal components. The wood stock retains its original profile with scattered handling marks, scratches, and small dings consistent with its age and intended use. The action appears to function correctly when cycled, although the firearm has not been live-fire tested. The bore was not inspected. The metal buttplate and hinged trapdoor are intact.
