Lot 592:
A Lot of 80 Rounds of Hornady Match Ammunition 8x57 JS
Sold for: $100
Description
This lot consists of 80 rounds of Hornady centerfire rifle ammunition, specifically from the manufacturer’s Match product line. The ammunition is chambered in 8×57 JS (8mm Mauser) and is loaded with 196-grain Boat Tail Hollow Point (BTHP) projectiles intended for precision target shooting. The cartridges feature reloadable brass cases and non-corrosive primers. The packaging includes four individual cardboard boxes, each containing a plastic divider tray for 20 rounds. Key markings on the box labels include the Hornady logo, the model designation MATCH, the caliber 8X57 JS, the bullet weight and type 196 gr BTHP, and the part number 82298. The front of each box prominently displays the Hornady name and logo alongside a portrait of J.W. Hornady (1907-1981) and the slogans Accurate, Deadly, Dependable. Individual cartridge headstamps are clearly marked HORNADY 8×57 JS around the primer pocket.
Condition report:
The ammunition remains in good overall condition. The factory cardboard boxes show typical minor shelf wear, including small creases, softened corners, and light scuffing to the printed surfaces. The brass cartridge cases are mostly bright but exhibit occasional patches of light surface tarnish and minor oxidation consistent with storage. The 196-grain copper-jacketed BTHP bullets appear clean and free of corrosion. All primers appear to be original factory seatings, and the ammunition is offered as live and functional.
