Description

This lot consists of 100 rounds of vintage 9mm Steyr ammunition manufactured by Gustav Genschow and Co., marked with the GECO trademark. The ammunition is contained in two original green-tinted cardboard boxes of 50 rounds each. These cartridges feature full metal jacket bullets with a silver-colored jacket, likely composed of cupronickel or nickel-plated steel. The boxes are prominently labeled with the German text 50 Patronen zur Selbstlade-Pistole Cal. 9 mm ,,Steyr” and Ganzmantel-Geschoß, identifying them as cartridges for a self-loading pistol. The manufacturer is identified on the lower portion of the boxes as Gustav Genschow and Co., Aktiengesellschaft, Durlach i. B., Germany. The cartridge headstamps are marked with the letters G E C O at the top, 9 m/m at the bottom, and the abbreviation St. appearing on both the left and right sides of the primer. The cartridges are arranged within their original internal cardboard dividers.

Condition report:

The green cardboard boxes exhibit significant age-related wear, including surface staining, edge fraying, and minor tears, and they have been stabilized with clear plastic wrapping. The brass cartridge cases show a naturally aged dark patina with scattered areas of surface oxidation and verdigris. The bullet jackets display a dull finish with light surface peppering and oxidation consistent with long-term storage. While the cartridges appear intact, we have not function-tested this vintage ammunition, and it is sold as a collectible item only.
